Tru Niagen Founder Rob Fried Calls for a More Responsible Supplement Industry

ChromaDex CEO and founder of Tru Niagen Rob Fried recently wrote an op ed piece published in Natural Products Insider on February 29, 2024, calling for self-regulation across the dietary supplement industry as the market evolves and bad actors continue to enter the space.

Recently, the editors of Natural Products Insider graciously invited me to write this op-ed sharing observations of the dietary supplement industry.       

In sum, I strongly believe the best way to be a trusted brand is to be a trustworthy company. This is why quality, safety, efficacy, and science are priorities with Tru Niagen® products. Unfortunately, many supplement brands do not share these values.    

We have an opportunity and a responsibility to benefit public health in this industry. But many consumers have learned to be skeptical of dietary supplements. I believe trust and loyalty will grow when more companies adhere to well-established rules and guidelines. And the industry should be of assistance to the regulatory bodies in enforcing those rules and guidelines.
