Accepted by the United States FDA & multiple international regulatory bodies
The FDA successfully reviewed Niagen twice—in 2015 and 2018—under its New Dietary Ingredient (NDI) notification program, and our ingredient was successfully notified to the FDA as Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS) in 2016. While the FDA does not regulate the dietary supplement industry, few companies go through the notification process with the FDA. Successful FDA notifications are an extra level of assurance that our key ingredient is safe and effective.
Gold standard transparency & authenticity
Every lot of Tru Niagen® is tested for potency, safety, and purity, and certificates of analysis are readily available so consumers can trace their products directly to our lab.
All batches are tested to ensure compliance to specifications and label claims, including potency through end of shelf life. At least 19 internal and third-party tests are conducted in the testing and release of Tru Niagen products, including the testing of the raw Niagen ingredient.
Our laboratories are ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited. All manufacturing facilities are visited and inspected frequently by our internal inspectors and third-party certifiers including NSF, Star-K (Kosher), and IFANCA (Halal).
Alkemist Assured™ by Alkemist Labs
We partner with Alkemist Labs for the third-party testing of all Tru Niagen products except Tru Niagen 1,000mg and Stick Packs, which are NSF Certified for Sport®. Like us, Alkemist champions transparency, and provides their own consumer-friendly certificates of analysis on a regular basis as they continually test our products. We prioritize strong scientific rigor and evidence above all. To date, we’ve participated in over 275 global scientific research collaborations through the ChromaDex External Research Program (CERP®), a division of Niagen Bioscience.
As of today, 40 peer-reviewed, published human clinical studies have demonstrated the safety and efficacy of Niagen in elevating NAD+.

Made in the U.S.A. with internationally sourced materials
Tru Niagen is blended, encapsulated, and bottled in the United States using globally sourced components that meet our exacting standards. Our active ingredient Niagen® comes from trusted domestic manufacturing partners, while final product assembly happens exclusively at U.S. facilities.
Every batch undergoes at least 19 comprehensive quality tests—13 for our food-grade Niagen® ingredient and an additional 6 for the finished Tru Niagen product—all conducted through our ISO-accredited laboratory in Longmont, Colorado, and verified by third-party U.S.-based testing partners NSF and Alkemist.
