Accepted by the United States FDA and Multiple International Regulatory Bodies
The FDA successfully reviewed Niagen twice—in 2015 and 2018—under its New Dietary Ingredient (NDI) notification program, and our ingredient was successfully notified to the FDA as Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS) in 2016. While the FDA does not regulate the dietary supplement industry, few companies go through the notification process with the FDA. Successful FDA notifications are an extra level of assurance that our key ingredient is safe and effective.
Transparency and Authenticity Are Our Obligations
Every lot of Tru Niagen® is tested for potency, safety, and purity, and certificates of analysis are readily available so consumers can trace their products directly to our lab.
All batches are tested to ensure compliance to specifications and label claims, including potency through end of shelf life. A total of 22 tests (internal and third-party) are conducted in the testing and release of Tru Niagen products, including the testing of the raw Niagen ingredient.
Our laboratories are ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited. All manufacturing facilities are visited and inspected frequently by our internal inspectors and third-party certifiers including NSF, Alkemist Labs, Star-K (Kosher), and IFANCA (Halal).

We partner with Alkemist Labs for the third-party testing of all Tru Niagen products except Tru Niagen 1,000mg (which is NSF Certified for Sport®). To date, we’ve participated in over 275 global scientific research collaborations through the ChromaDex External Research Program (CERP™). More than 25 published human clinical studies have demonstrated the safety and efficacy of Niagen in elevating NAD+, and we continue to pioneer research on the benefits of our products to help combat the effects of aging and improve health and well-being across the globe.
